Описание вакансии
The Senior Information Security Engineer at Betsson plays a critical role in the protection of the organisation’s information systems.
The Wow:
The senior position assumes added responsibility due to experience across the areas of Security Governance, Security Operations, Security Awareness Training, and Security Incident Response, with a concentration on Security Operations. In addition to hands-on technical work, the Senior Engineer will act as a technical leader; mentor junior team members; and contribute to the overall improvement of Betsson’s security posture.
A taster of what you will be involved with:
Security Operations (SECOPS)
• Lead advanced vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and threat modeling exercises.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to the SOC team on complex threats, targeted attacks, and advanced persistent threat (APT) scenarios.
• Design and implement architectures for new security tools, automations, and workflows to improve detection and mitigation capabilities.
• Oversee security technology lifecycle management, including upgrades, integrations, and vendor evaluations.
Incident Response (CSIRT)
• Participate and lead incident response efforts for critical security events, guiding investigation teams and coordinating with external partners when required.
• Perform and oversee forensic investigations, providing in-depth root-cause analysis and post-incident reports to executive stakeholders.
• Establish and refine incident response playbooks for various threat scenarios.
Security Governance (GRC)
• Provide expert-level technical input during the creation, review, and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead and facilitate complex Information Security Reviews and due diligence for high-impact projects and third-party engagements.
• Advise management on emerging risks, compliance trends, and alignment with international frameworks.
Security Awareness Training (SAT)
• Participate in the design of security awareness initiatives.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and assist in the adaptation of campaigns based on emerging threat trends.
What we are looking for:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent extensive industry experience).
• Minimum 5–7 years in Information Security, with at least 3 years in a senior, lead, or architect-level role.
• Proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing enterprise security systems and architectures.
• Strong proficiency in threat analysis, vulnerability management, SIEM/SOAR systems, and security control frameworks.
• Deep understanding of compliance requirements and security governance principles.
• Professional certifications strongly considered an asset (e.g., CISSP, CISM, OSCP).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and lead security projects from concept to completion.
What we offer:
Much like riding a rollercoaster, sometimes life at Betsson can be lightning fast with twists and turns but always FUN! Then again, what else would you expect from a business 75% millennial and 1700 strong, spread across 7 offices with 900 based out of our Malta HQ alone! We recognise it may not be for the faint-hearted, but if you’re a go-getter, initiator and adrenaline junkie, always striving to push the boundaries and challenge yourself, then you’ll fit right in.
