Definition
An affiliate platform is the software that operators use to manage their affiliate program: tracker creation, commission calculation, reporting, payment processing, and affiliate communication. It is the system of record for affiliate relationships.
In context
Affiliate platforms sit between operators and affiliates. Operators configure commission plans, create trackers and referral links, review affiliate traffic quality, and process monthly payments.
Affiliates use the platform to generate tracking links, view click and conversion reports, and download marketing creative. The platform attributes each new player to the affiliate whose tracker was used in the first visit.
Established platforms include Cellxpert, Income Access, NetRefer, PartnerMatrix, and Affiliateland. They support RevShare, CPA, Hybrid, and sub-affiliate commission structures, plus tiered plans based on volume or player quality.
Most platforms integrate with the operator PAM and wallet to pull NGR, FTD, and churn data, and provide both operator-side and affiliate-side dashboards with different access levels.
Modern affiliate platforms handle fraud detection through device fingerprinting, IP analysis, and pattern recognition on bonus abuse and multi-accounting. They also support multi-brand operators, allowing a single affiliate to promote multiple brands under one account while keeping reporting segregated.
API access lets affiliates pull data into their own BI tools, and webhook integrations enable real-time alerts on key events like first deposit or churn.
Common operator mistakes include under-investing in affiliate onboarding, which slows program growth, and using platforms with weak fraud detection, which exposes the operator to bonus abuse through fake affiliate accounts. Affiliates should evaluate platform transparency, reporting depth, and payment reliability before committing to a program.
Migration between platforms is painful and often loses historical attribution data, so the platform choice should be a long-term one.
Worked example
An operator runs Cellxpert with a 35% RevShare plan. An affiliate generates a tracker, refers 80 FTDs in a month, and is paid 4,200 euro based on the players generated NGR.
