Free spins are a casino bonus that lets a player spin a specified slot a set number of times without staking their own money on those spins. They are given as part of welcome packages, reloads, no-deposit offers and promotions, and each spin is played at a fixed stake value set by the offer (for example 50 spins at 0.20).
Whatever the spins win is credited according to the offer's terms.
The terms decide the real value: winnings may be paid as withdrawable cash (wager-free spins) or into a bonus balance carrying a wagering requirement, there is often a maximum cashout cap, the spins usually work only on the named game, and they expire on a fixed date.

For affiliates, free spins are one of the most searched bonus types and one where the gap between the headline ("100 free spins!") and the realistic value is wide, so accurate content matters. A review or comparison should state the spin count, the per-spin stake value (which sets what the spins are actually worth - 100 spins at 0.10 is a 10 spin value), whether winnings are wager-free cash or wager-restricted bonus funds, the wagering multiple if any, the maximum cashout, the eligible game, and the expiry.
Quoting only the count overstates the offer.
The honest framing is that free spins are a trial or a small bonus, not free money - the spins have a house edge like any play, and wager-restricted winnings often clear at a low rate. Wager-free spins are genuinely better value per nominal unit and worth highlighting.
Content should carry age-gating and responsible-gambling messaging, present the maximum cashout prominently so a big win is not a surprise, and note that playing an excluded game with an active spins bonus can void it.
