Definition

A loyalty shop is a catalogue where players spend loyalty points — earned by wagering — on rewards: bonus funds, free spins, cash, merchandise, event tickets, tournament entries, or higher-tier perks. It is the redemption side of a loyalty programme, turning accumulated points into chosen items rather than automatic drips.

The exchange rate (points per unit of reward) and the wagering needed to earn a point together determine the real return the programme offers.

The loyalty shop makes the programme's value concrete and comparable: multiplying the points earned per unit wagered by the value obtained per point in the shop gives an effective cashback-equivalent rate, which is usually a small fraction of a percent of turnover.

In context

For affiliates, the loyalty shop is where a loyalty programme can actually be compared between operators, and doing that calculation is genuinely useful review content. By working out how many points a unit of wagering earns and what those points are worth in the shop, an affiliate can express each operator's programme as an effective return rate on turnover and rank them honestly — which is far more informative than listing tier names and perks.

It also exposes programmes whose points look generous but redeem at a poor rate.

The framing should be accurate: loyalty value is a rebate earned through volume of play, not free value, and the effective rate is small, so a player should not treat points accumulation as a reason to play more. Content should present the loyalty shop as a comparison tool, state the effective return it works out to, note whether rewards come with their own wagering (bonus-fund rewards often do), and keep standard age-gating and responsible-gambling messaging.

It should not encourage playing to reach a redemption threshold or frame the shop as a way to profit.

Worked example

An affiliate calculates each operator's loyalty return: operator A gives 1 point per 10 wagered and 100 points redeem for 1 in the shop, an effective 0.1% rebate; operator B works out to 0.25%. It ranks them on this and notes bonus-fund rewards carry their own wagering.

The content frames loyalty as a small volume-based rebate, with responsible-gambling messaging.
