Definition
A wild is a slot symbol that substitutes for other symbols to help complete winning combinations, much like a joker in cards. Beyond basic substitution, games layer variations on it: expanding wilds that fill a whole reel, sticky wilds that stay in place for a number of spins, walking wilds that shift position each spin, multiplier wilds that boost the win they are part of, and stacked wilds that appear several-high on a reel.
