The Dutch Gambling Authority has renewed three monopoly licences for Lotto B.V., covering lotteries, scratch cards, and land-based sports betting. The new licences will run for five years, taking effect on 1 January 2027 and lasting until the end of 2031.
The current licences expire at the end of 2026. Lotto remains the sole licence holder for these activities after meeting the Ksa's renewal requirements.
The monopoly system itself is still being challenged in court. A pending Council of State ruling could affect whether other companies are able to apply for these licences in future.
