Job Description
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulates Ontario's alcohol, gaming, horse racing and cannabis retail sectors. The Litigation Counsel provides litigation-focused legal advice on AGCO-administered statutes and represents the AGCO before administrative tribunals and courts.
Responsibilities
Provide litigation-focused legal advice on the application of statutes administered by the AGCO
Regularly represent the AGCO in proceedings before administrative tribunals, Divisional Court and Court of Appeal
Provide legal advice on compliance and eligibility matters, including issuance of orders, notices and rulings
Regularly represent the AGCO in proceedings before administrative tribunals, Divisional Court and Court of Appeal

Requirements
Law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
5+ years legal experience in public service, a regulatory environment or a regulated entity
Proven experience in administrative law litigation with a strong track record on complex cases
