Senior Data Platform Engineer - Betsson Group

Betsson Group is a global engineering organisation building high-scale, real-time platforms across 40+ digital brands, with more than 2,800 colleagues representing 75+ nationalities.

We are hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer for our Malta team to build the core of our data platform, creating scalable, self-service capabilities that accelerate the entire data development lifecycle.

This is a full-time hybrid position focused on platform features rather than individual pipelines.

Design and build scalable, reusable frameworks for data ingestion and transformation
Develop and maintain core platform capabilities such as orchestration and schema management
Engineer self-service features empowering data engineers and analysts
Implement and enforce data modeling standards through automated tools
Collaborate with Data DevOps Engineers to ensure platform features are automated and observable

Strong software engineering fundamentals with Python or Java
Experience building reusable frameworks, libraries, or internal tools
Experience with modern cloud database technologies
Understanding of data orchestration and data quality validation systems
Strong focus on improving the data developer experience (DataDevEx)
