VP, Design - Trustly

Trustly is a global leader in open banking payments, enabling fast, secure account-to-account transfers and establishing Pay by Bank as a new standard at checkout for merchants and consumers worldwide.

We are hiring a VP, Design for our San Francisco, CA team. This role owns the design vision and quality bar for Trustly's global product surfaces, building and leading a team of product designers across checkout flows, merchant portals and internal tooling.

Set and defend the design vision, design language and quality standard across consumer and merchant-facing products.
Build, lead and mentor a team of product designers across multiple product surfaces.
Own the design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility and efficiency across teams and platforms.
Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to integrate design into every stage of the product development cycle.
Drive user research and usability testing practices that ground design decisions in real user needs.

12+ years of product design experience, with at least 4 years leading design teams at a fast-growing technology company.
Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design leadership across consumer and/or B2B products.
Deep expertise in design systems, interaction design and visual design.
Proven ability to build and grow design teams and culture in a fast-paced environment.
Payments, fintech or enterprise SaaS design experience is a strong plus.
