Senior Data Engineer - Kaizen Gaming

Kaizen Gaming, the team powering Betano, is one of the biggest GameTech companies in the world, operating in 20 markets with more than 2,700 Kaizeners across 3 continents.

We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer for our Athens team. You will help drive the transition from a Data Lake to a Data Mesh architecture, treating data as a product with distributed ownership and domain-oriented design.

This is a full-time hybrid position working with Spark, Python/Scala, Databricks, Delta Lake, Airflow, and Kafka.

Design and optimize scalable data pipelines across the data ecosystem
Drive the transition toward a Data Mesh architecture with well-defined data contracts
Ensure data democratization, governance, and observability across the platform
Build next-generation Data Products and ingestion frameworks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on secure, scalable data ingestion

Strong experience as a Data Engineer working with Spark, Python/Scala, and Databricks
Experience with Delta Lake, Apache Airflow, and Kafka
Understanding of Data Mesh principles and domain-oriented data design
Experience with cloud-native services (Azure/AWS)
Strong focus on data governance and observability
